_"jika di Tirus dan di Sidon terjadi mujizat-mujizat yang telah terjadi di tengah-tengah kamu, sudah lama mereka bertobat dan berkabung."_

Ayb 38:1,12-21; 39:36-38; Mzm 139:1-3,7-8,9-10,13-14ab; Luk 10:13-18.

Di suatu subuh, Audi baru pulang dugem bersama teman-temannya.
Lalu ketika sedang menunggu kendaraan umum, ia menemukan suatu headset dengan MP3 player.
Awalnya ia tidak mau mengambil, tetapi akhirnya diambilnya juga dan disimpan di sakunya.

Setelah tiba di rumah, Audi melihat ibunya sedang berdoa pagi.
Lalu ia masuk ke dalam kamar dan mencoba mendengarkan MP3 tadi.

Setelah didengar, ternyata isinya adalah Kitab Suci melalui suara.
Dan yang terdengar adalah :
"Datanglah kepadaku, kalian semua yang berbeban berat.."
Lalu menangislah Audi mendengar itu.

Kemudian, ia mengganti pakaiannya, lalu keluar kamar dan duduk berdoa di samping ibunya. 

Melihat anaknya berdoa sambil membawa Rosario, sang ibu tersenyum dan bersyukur kepada Allah.

Yesus berkata :
"Celakalah engkau Khorazim! Celakalah engkau Betsaida! karena jika di Tirus dan di Sidon terjadi mujizat-mujizat yang telah terjadi di tengah-tengah kamu, sudah lama mereka bertobat dan berkabung."

Hanya dengan bertobat kita mampu mendengarkan Sabda Tuhan.

Oratio
Ya Tuhan, kasihanilah kami orang berdosa ini. Amin.

Missio
_Marilah kita melakukan karya kerahiman melalui hidup yang penuh pertobatan setiap hari._

Luke 10:13-16.

"Woe to you, Chorazin! woe to you, Beth-saida! for if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it shall be more tolerable in the judgement for Tyre and Sidon than for you. And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You shall be brought down to Hades."

It is hard to hear these words from You, Our Merciful Lord.
It doesn't quite sound like You. I understand that it is not You who want to condemn them; it was them who didn't want to be saved.
It wasn't You, Lord, who didn't knock at their door; it was them who didn't open.

You want to save everyone but some stubborn sinners refuse to be saved.

As St Augustine put it: 'God who created you without you, will not save you without you.'

These people were free to accept You, and freely decided to reject You.
It's not sin but the obstinacy of sin that condemns people. It is the insanity of remaining in our sin and not to want to make amends.

This insanity could be named as 'insinnity': the obstinacy of remaining in our sins. Our mission, in order to save souls, is to encourage those sinners to keep trying to  fight against their sins and to atone for them. We are all sinners. The only difference is that some sinners keep fighting and some others have given up.

Discouragement is the devil's great speciality. The enemy spends his energy trying to convince us to give up:
'You will never get rid of these sins' he suggests in your ear,
'This is too hard for you',
'There is no point in going to confession: you will need to confess the same sin again in no time...' Sound familiar?

A medical doctor was giving a lesson to his students. They entered a ward crowded with patients and he asked:
'Which one of these do you think should receive attention first?
Who do you think is worse?'

After they had given their different opinions, he gave the right answer:
'Do you see that man with flies on his face? If he has given up shooing the flies away it's because he has given up on himself.'

I can assist those sinners who have given up and encourage them if you, my Mother - their Mother - Refuge of sinners, help me.

Tips of the day: day 1479.

Beberapa kali sepertinya Tuhan gagal menyelamatkan umat-Nya Israel. Tapi Ia tidak pernah berhenti dan menyerah.

Tuhan memakai 10 perintah Allah tapi dilanggar, ada hukum Taurat tapi dipraktekkan secara semena-mena. Apakah Tuhan menyerah? Tidak.

  Tuhan mengutus nabi-nabi-Nya untuk menyerukan kabar keselamatan, tapi mereka mengeraskan hati bahkan ada nabi yang dibunuh.
Tuhan tidak juga menyerah.

Akhirnya Ia mengutus Anak-Nya sebagai Juru Selamat.
Tuhan menghendaki kita memiliki mental yang kuat dan tidak pernah menyerah ketika mengalami kegagalan.
Tidak peduli berapa kali kita jatuh, jangan pernah berhenti dan bangun.

Jatuh tujuh kali, bangun delapan kali.

"Sebab tujuh kali orang benar jatuh, namun ia bangun kembali, tetapi orang fasik akan roboh dalam bencana."
(Amsal 24:16).
